Kim Da-young, the Department of Textile Design, received the President’s Award in the 22nd Korea Textile Design Contest, which was hosted by the Federation of Korea Textile Industries.This contest was held to discover talented textile designers. Keimyung University held leadership training for the Student Council in Dok-do and Ulleung-do from August 17 to 19. Lee Sung-bae, the president of the General Student Council (GSC) said, “We visited Dok-do to thank the Dok-do police who work hard to protect Dok-do. It was a good chance to understand their work. The Sokdowuiban team, which consisted of nine students from the Department of Mechanical Automotive Engineering, won the KSAE Baja Competition held in Gunsan Saemangeum Motor Center from August 17 to 19. The team received a championship flag, trophy, certification of merit, and about $4,000 prize money. The Leaders team, Department of Media and Information, won the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family prize of 1,500,000 won in the Korea Youth UCC (User Created Contents) Camp which was held for the Daegu World Athletics Championships. This event included programs such as making Daegu maps, a green tour, and a youth club festival. Young people from all over the country made images of Daegu heritage sites and tourist spots in Daegu.
