Kim Eun-jin (23, freshman, Dept. of Nursing), a volunteer interpreter at the International Clinic in Dongsan Hospital, has helped foreigners who visit Dongsan Hospital since 2009. She helps foreign patients to make a reservation for hospitalization and to find proper medical treatment. The number of foreigners who visit the hospital are about 20 to 30 a day. On January 6, the Dendenmusi (“snail” in Japanese) team, from the Department of Japanese Language and Literature, was chosen as the best club in the JPT (Japanese Proficiency Test) competition held by YBM Si-Sa. From January 4 to 6, Education for International Citizens (EFIC) was held in Dong Yeong Hall for local high school students. There were 45 high school students from Songhyun, Kyunghwa, and Wonhwa girls' high schools. EFIC was designed to provide international comprehension and multi-cultural experiences. On November 5, Hyundai-Kia Motors held the Autonomous Vehicle Competition. The Keimyung University team got the Yeol-jeong Prize worth five million won. 11 university teams were in this competition.An autonomous vehicle is a vehicle which does not need human control. The vehicle is equipped with a control sensor, GPS, and radar.
