Education for International Citizens

From January 4 to 6, Education for International Citizens (EFIC) was held in Dong Yeong Hall for local high school students. There were 45 high school students from Songhyun, Kyunghwa, and Wonhwa girls' high schools.

EFIC was designed to provide international comprehension and multi-cultural experiences. The students learned many things about other countries. The program ran for six hours a day, and it was composed of English conversation, understanding world cultures, English presentation skills, negotiation training, business etiquette and culture, and team activities. A UCC contest encouraged students to study cultures in more depth. The students had language classes with foreign teachers in the morning and culture classes in the afternoon. All the language classes were taught in English by foreign teachers. In the culture classes, students from North America, Europe, Oceania, Africa, Central Asia, and East Asia introduced their cultures.

The students said that it was a good program because they could learn English in an atmosphere of freedom.
