Agreement about Chinese Education

On January 28, Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education and the Confucius Institute at Keimyung University said, “We will make an agreement of mutual exchange and cooperation for developing Chinese education and culture in Daegu.” In March, Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education and the Confucius Institute will start to cooperate on after-school Chinese education programs. Both institutions will conduct classes with Chinese native-speakers and a culture and linguistics training program in China.

Chinese native-speakers selected by the Chinese Ministry of Education will be sent as Chinese teaching assistants to schools in Daegu. The teaching assistants will recommend students and teachers to learn about Chinese culture and linguistics in China.

Superintendent of Education Woo Tong Ki said, “If both institutions implement the education and culture business consistently, we will get many opportunities for cultural exchanges between Korea and China.”
