Keimyung University held leadership training for the Student Council in Dok-do and Ulleung-do from August 17 to 19.
Lee Sung-bae, the president of the General Student Council (GSC) said, “We visited Dok-do to thank the Dok-do police who work hard to protect Dok-do. It was a good chance to understand their work. This training was short, but it was very meaningful.”
Originally, Keimyung University Student Council scheduled leadership training in Jeju Island. However, the Council decided to visit Dok-do for leadership training because of the situation between Korean and Japan over Dok-do. Before the camp, they researched what the Dok-do police needed, and they brought care packages for them.
Hwang Soo-jin, who was a participant in this camp, said, “We visited Dok-do and gave care packages to the guards. We want our care packages to be helpful.”
Lee Min-gee, a Dok-do guard, said, “Most tourists who visit Dok-do only take a picture. However, Keimyung students brought care packages for us. I thank them for their efforts.”
