The opera Nabucco was performed at Keimyung Art Center to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the establishment of Keimyung University. The opera was performed for 3 days from September 1 to September 3. Tickets were free for anyone who reserved them by telephone booking. Giuseppe Verdi, who was an Italian opera composer, wrote Nabucco based on a Bible story and the play Nabuccodonosor. The name “Nabucco” is a shortened form of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II, and the opera has the background of the Babylonian captivity in 6 BC. KMU held a Korean language and culture camp on Seongseo Campus on August 4. The students came from Switzerland, Japan, and all around Europe.This camp held various programs for three weeks. There were Korean language classes in the morning and various Korean culture classes in the afternoon. Students put on hanbok, did taekwondo, took samulnori lessons, had lessons in K-pop dancing, and went to a jjimjilbang. On August 11, Keimyung University won the Master Prize at the H-Star Festival.
