Grand Prize at H-Star Festival



On August 11, Keimyung University won the Master Prize at the H-Star Festival. The festival was held in the main hall of Daehakro Arts Theater, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The festival was held by Hyundai Motor Group and the Korea Association of Performing Arts Producers and sponsored by about 16 cultural and artistic organizations including the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. It is the biggest nationwide performing arts festival.

H-Star Festival recruited participants from March 10 to May 10. The 2000 selected participants from 59 universities went through the preliminaries from May to June. Finally, 7 drama teams and 7 musical teams moved into the finals. The finalists had a 2-day workshop with professionals. The final performances were before about 4000 spectators and professionals in the final contest from July 29 to August 10. Keimyung University got the grand prize in the musical field, and Handong University got the grand prize in the drama field. The awards ceremony was on August 11.
