On May 10, doctors from various countries, like Yan’an University Hospital in China and Memorial Hospital in India, visited Dongsan Medical Center for a training program about laparoscopic surgery.This training program is part of the domestic training programs by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) for foreign doctors. On April 19, Oh Jong-min, a junior in the Department of English Language and Literature, was selected for the Korean Undergraduate Student Leaders program of the U.S. State Department. Seven students were selected from all parts of the country, and Oh Jong-min is the only successful candidate in Daegu. On March 24, the first round of the Unmanned Vehicle Competition conducted by Hyundai-KIA Motors was held on Keimyung auxiliary athletic field. Ten Keimyung Graduate School of Intelligent Vehicles and Transportation (GSIVT) students participated. In the contest, students transform a car provided by Hyundai-KIA Motors into an unmanned car with a computer system which controls the car. On March 5, the ‘Nightingale Pledge ceremony’ was taken by new nurses vowing to do their best in their career in nursing. It was held in the College of Nursing auditorium on Seongseo campus.110 junior students from the College of Nursing, who have taken their first step to becoming nurses, made the vows with candlelight to follow the nurse’s spirit in the form of respect for life and love for humanity.
