Unmanned Vehicle Competition



On March 24, the first round of the Unmanned Vehicle Competition conducted by Hyundai-KIA Motors was held on Keimyung auxiliary athletic field. Ten Keimyung Graduate School of Intelligent Vehicles and Transportation (GSIVT) students participated.

In the contest, students transform a car provided by Hyundai-KIA Motors into an unmanned car with a computer system which controls the car. The winning team will be given $90,000, and the second and third teams will be given $45,000 and $27,000 respectively.

There are 11 participating teams from KAIST, Seoul National University, Hanyang University, Inha University, and KUTE (Korea University of Technology and Education). Keimyung University is the only participating team in the Gyeongbuk area. The second round will be held in Keimyung in July or August, while the final is scheduled for September.
