On November 20, a Learning Talk lecture was held in the Multimedia-room on the third floor of New Bauer Hall.The speaker was Chae Ra-da, a product director for EBS. Ryu Gil-jae, the former Minister of Unification, talked about the reasons for unification. He explained that we are the same race and we cultivated a long history before the war. KMU’s Dongsan Library has been helping small libraries in substandard conditions for 5 years. Since 2011, Dong san Library has supported 45 libraries in Daegu and 47 libraries in Gyeong buk through various activities. The volunteer activities consist of reading education, data rearrangement, space organization, interior design and environmental improvement. These activities are greatly appreciated by the local community and library users. On September 23, Dongsan Scholarship Foundation(Chief Director Synn Il-hi) held the ‘2015 Scholarship Certificate of Conferment Ceremony’ in Hengso Museum’s Audio-Visual room. Daegu National Science Museum held a lecture at Keimyung University on September 24.Gang Sin-won, the curator of Daegu National Scuence museum, gave the lecture. Dr. Gang lectured about big data, smart automobiles and cognitive robotics as growth industries in Korea. He explained the science and technology policies of China and important science news stories. He also talked about exciting fields of science like science in everyday life and genetically modified organisms.In closing, he said that we should make greater efforts to go beyond the current situation.

The 3rd National University Students Reading Debate Competition was held in Gunpo on August 27 and 28. Keimyung University Student Eun Yun-su (Sophomore, Department of Politics and Diplomacy) was selected the best panelist.Except for Jeju Island, university students from all regions participated in this debate competition. This competition was held by Gunpo which called City of Books. The competition has 35 finalists who are chosen through qualifiers.
