  • A Welcoming Concert for Freshmen

    The opening ceremony for Keimyung University's general organization and the welcoming concert for freshmen were held on April 28, 2022 at the Seong-seo Campus. The welcome concert for freshmen was organized by CALLA the KMU student council. Although many aspects were restricted due to COVID-19, it was the first event held at the schools as national distancing rules eased. Although the social-distance rules were eased, there were restrictions on the operation of designated seats by the university, mandatory wearing of masks, and body temperature measurement before admission.   • Cross-Cultural Awareness Programme (KMU-CCAP)

    The Keimyung University Cross-Cultural Awareness Programme (KMU-CCAP) is a programmes held by the Center for International Affairs. The Center for International Affairs set up several groups consisting of a Cultural Exchange Volunteer (CEV) and a Korean Interpretation Volunteer (KIV) to send to schools throughout Daegu. The CEV groups consist of foreign students, Mostly Exchange Students. Each group prepares 1-hour lecture about the country that the CEV’s members are from in English or the CEV’s member’s native language such as German or French.     From May 16th, 2022 until May 19th, 2022, foreign alumni will be holding lectures for undergraduate foreign students of KMU. Several alumni who have completed their PHDs and MBAs at KMU and current KMU students will be delivering to help foreign students increase their employability in South Korea as well as how to acquire an employment visa such as E-7, F-2, and F-5, tips for improving Korean language, the need for academic degrees, and tips for living in Korea.     The Comparative Course Program Designing Contest was held in the first semester of 2022. The contest was held for undergraduate students at Keimyung University, and the first application period was from April 27th to May 10th. The contest was for teams to make a specific proposal for either a new comparative course for university, or to make suggestions to improve a current comparative course program.   • KMU International Lounge Movie Day

    On Wednesday, May 4th the KMU International Lounge held the first Movie Day in years. A Movie Day is an event held by the KMU International Lounge where the students can watch movies from different countries and learn about that country’s culture. A few days before the event, the International Lounge asked visitors to write down the movies that they want to watch on a whiteboard, and the chosen movie was Deadpool. Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. Under the theme, “Arc,” symbolizing growth and vision, the Fashion Show showcased 94 outfits created by Keimyung University’s Fashion Design

French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride. The event provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to immerse themselves in Korea’s cultural and rural heritage while enjoying memorable outdoor activities.
