Keimyung University's Dongsan Library held ‘Library Resource-sharing Mentoring’ program on from August 7. Library resource-sharing is for university students to volunteer for improving local libraries-specifically, school and small scale libraries. Since 2011, at the beginning of summer vacation, this library resource-sharing mentoring has been implemented seven times a year. The Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea (KPIPA) announced that they selected 320 scholarly books from across ten fields as ‘2017 scholarly books of Sejong’. KPIPA judged 4,013 scholarly books which were published from March last year to February this year. From these judged books, five scholarly books written by KMU professors were selected. The Keimyung University Taekwondo Performance Team won second place in the Senior Taekwondo Gymnastic Competition, at the 2017 Anyang World Taekwondo Hanmadang. This festival was held between July 29th and August 1st with 64 countries and 5732 athletes. The Taekwondo Gymnastic Competition was held on the 31st.The team which consisted of Gayeon Gang and 8 other members was considered as a rising star of this competition. The Keimyung University Judo team won gold in the team event at the 2017 Summer National Men’s and Women’s University Judo Championship which ended at Inje Gymnasium in Gangwon-do on July 14th. This means that the KMU team got the championship flag back after three years. Also, a coach, Bae Jin-beom and an athlete, Lee Hong-joo from the Keimyung University Judo team won the best coach and the most valuable player award (MVP). Furthermore, Lee Hong-joo got the bronze medal in the individual event under-81kg division.
From May 22 to 24, Keimyung University’s student council hosted a festival at the Seongseo Campus. This was the first concert held in the big schoolyard. This festival’s name is Choa, this mean is person shining the world by burning yourself. So, there are contests competing student’s dancing and singing skills on the 22. The entertainer, PSY came here on the last day 24. Auberges(alcoholic drink tents set-up by students) opened from the 22 to the 23 for two days. Many departments prepared auberges. On May 18, Arts & Humanities conference of the silk road was held at Dongcheon Hall. It was sponsored by university of Isfahan, Keimyung university, and initiative for college of humanities’ research and education. It went on for about 7 hours with 2 sessions. On May 10, 2017, Students in the Department of Music Production at Keimyung Artech College performed “The First Wave” concert at Buer Hall. This concert is welcoming presentation for freshman.The ensemble of vocals and several instruments including electric guitars, keyboards, and drum performed music arranged by students. To close the concert, students sang "Our Dream" the theme song of the Japanese animation "One Piece".The concert ended successfully with applause by the audience. Future performances by the Department of Music Production are expected after the success of this concert.
On May 2, 2017, a special lecture by a domestic businessman who had experience working in India was held at the College of Business Administration in KMU.
