On September 29, Keimyung University made a contract with Dassault Systemes Korea to cultivate specialists in 3D and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) in the Engineering BuildingofKeimyungUniversity. On October 21, the Presentation Competition was held in the Audio-Visual Room in Bauer Hall. The competition was held to promote healthy and safe campus life, and was held with the theme “ways to prevent sexual violence.” The students who participated were from various grades and majors. Lee Sung-bae, the president of the General Student Council (GSC) said, “We visited Dok-do to thank the Dok-do police who work hard to protect Dok-do. It was a good chance to understand their work. This training was short, but it was very meaningful.” Originally, Keimyung University Student Council scheduled leadership training in Jeju Island. KMU hosted the Korean Language and Korean Culture camp from Monday August 8th to Friday the 26th on the Seongseo Campus. 123 students from Germany and Japan participated in the program, choosing from many classes such as Samulnori, Taekwondo, traditional crafts, and Korean traditional food. Students who participated in this camp, are not exchange students but students from KMU sister colleges who had registered for the camp in order to learn Korean culture. The Sokdowuiban team, which consisted of nine students from the Department of Mechanical Automotive Engineering, won the KSAE Baja Competition held in Gunsan Saemangeum Motor Center from August 17 to 19. The team received a championship flag, trophy, certification of merit, and about $4,000 prize money. This contest selected the winning team through a race with vehicles designed and manufactured by each team. Keimyung University will launch a Super-Mentor Program that will run from August to December 2011. This program was devised to support students and create an atmosphere of effective foundation building. The mentees will be paired with an expert who works in a relevant field to develop a mentoring relationship over a period of time. They will be given one-on-one tutoring so they can learn the foundation of their field, such as the steps between drawing up a business plan and making a final product.
