KMU’s Dongsan Medical Center performs Medical Treatments for the 2011 IAAF World Championships

Each institution in Daegu is working hard to support the 2011 IAAF World Championships.

As a designated hospital, Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center created support groups for medical treatment and has held programs to educate them. The support groups, including Professor Lee Dong-pil (Director of the Local Organizing Committee’s Medical and anti-doping program), doctors, nurses and physical therapists, are responsible for the health of 2000 players, 1500 staff and 2500 reporters involved in the event.

Cha Soon-do, Director of Dongsan Medical Center, said “the World Championship in Athletics is a good chance for Daegu to introduce its high level of medical treatment and elevate the image of Daegu.” Also he said, “Dongsan Medical Center will contribute to the increasing brand power of Daegu and Korea with its medical services.”

The Medical Department for the World Championship in Athletics consists of anti-doping support teams and medical services teams. They perform medical treatments at 26 locations, including Daegu Stadium.
