To improve our competitive employment power, a cooperation agreement between the Daegu Exhibition Convention Center (EXCO) and Keimyung’s Department of Tourism Management was signed on March 8 in Euiyang Hall. The 2007 entrance ceremony was held in the main gymnasium on February 28. Five thousand and thirty two new students began their life at Keimyung University. The International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT) is the world’s largest student festival with a thematic focus. Every second year since 1990, ISFiT has been held in Trondheim, Norway. During the 10 days of the festival from February 16~25, more than 400 students from all over the world gathered in Trondheim. Fourteen Korean students participate in it, with Bae Gyeon-hee, a junior from Keimyung's Department of American Studies, being the only student not from the Seoul metropolitan area. Keimyung University gives scholarships to students who travel abroad to visit international organizations, multinational corporations, government agencies, or universities for the purpose of pursuing their major. On February 5, the Overseas Culture Reporting Program published a book of reports submitted by the scholarship students. The book depicts students' concern about art, society, and welfare throughout Asia, America, and Europe. The Overseas Culture Reporting Program is going to publish the book every year. Professors and students of Keimyung University won a lot of prizes in 2006. Last year, 420 Keimyung people won prizes, and this year 581 Keimyung people won prizes in various kinds of contests. The play won the first prize at the Sixth Japanese Drama Festival hosted by the Consulate General of Japan on October 21.
