On January 29, the Multicultural Social Institute was selected as the agency for running social adaptation programs for immigrants by the Ministry of Justice. The center started to manage a variety of programs for multi-cultural families in February. Keimyung Dongsan Medical Center has completed the construction of the School of Medicine and the College of Nursing. On February 5, a building dedication ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of construction 500 guests attended including Cha Soon-do, the director of Dongsan Medical Center, Jeong Soon-mo, the Chief of the Board of Directors, and President Synn Il-hi. On January 28, Cha Soon-do, the director of Dongsan Medical Center, along with Korea Food for the Hungry International, dispatched medical volunteers to Haiti. Director Cha and Son Eun-ik, the medical service leader, participated in the ceremony of dispatching medical volunteers to East Haiti. Keimyung University students received praise for their performance in the 4th University Theater Festival in Geochang. In this festival, fifteen traditional drama teams and nine musical teams competed for eighteen days. The Logic & Ethics Education Center was appointed in 2009 as a supporting business of lecturing humanities for citizens. This business started in 2007 and continued until 2009. This is the only such business in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. Every semester, philosophy seminars take place every Thursday and a course by the enunciation leader has been held by the Logic & Ethics Education Center. In particular, the enunciation leader course is very popular among high school students and their parents.
