Social Adaptation Program for Immigrants

On January 29, the Multicultural Social Institute was selected as the agency for running social adaptation programs for immigrants by the Ministry of Justice. The center started to manage a variety of programs for multi-cultural families in February. Programs for immigrants are to provide immigrants who want to acquire citizenship with educational benefits. On top of that, the course finishers can get an exemption from the written test and reduce the waiting time for acquiring citizenship.

In the center, a Korean language course and an understanding Korean society course are to be established and operated using the facilities of Dong-chon Welfare Center and the administrative cooperation of the center. In addition, internship and field practice are also to be provided for students majoring in immigration and multicultural studies or related departments.
