Letter of Appreciation from U.S. Army


On December 22, President Synn Il-hi was given a letter of appreciation from the U.S. Army at the closing ceremony of the 12th Korean American Friendship Circle held at the Hotel Inter-bulgo EXCO under the auspices of KAPA (Korean American Partnership Association).

In the ceremony, approximately 300 people, including Lee Cheol-hwi, the operational commander of the ROK Army Second Operations Command, and people concerned with KAPA participated. General Thomas Harvey, commander of the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, gave the letter of appreciation to President Synn. President Synn said, “I will try to help the two countries cooperate through the Korea-America Friendship Circle.”

Keimyung University has participated in the Korean American Friendship Circle program to promote cooperation and understanding between Korea and America since 2003. It has also invited USFK (United States Forces Korea) to various cultural events to promote relations between the two countries.

President Synn has been a cultural ambassador for the U.S. Army since 2007, and he has played an important role in extending Korean-American relations and has tried to promote relations between the two countries through numerous meeting with USFK.
