Professor Yoon Jae-woo in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Keimyung University was chosen as the winner of the ‘Young Scientist Prize’ at the 2011 general meeting of the Japanese Microbial Resources Association. Professor Yoon received the prize in Japan’s Sapporo convention center at September 8th. On October 21, the Presentation Competition was held in the Audio-Visual Room in Bauer Hall. The competition was held to promote healthy and safe campus life, and was held with the theme “ways to prevent sexual violence.” The students who participated were from various grades and majors. KMU hosted the Korean Language and Korean Culture camp from Monday August 8th to Friday the 26th on the Seongseo Campus. 123 students from Germany and Japan participated in the program, choosing from many classes such as Samulnori, Taekwondo, traditional crafts, and Korean traditional food. Students who participated in this camp, are not exchange students but students from KMU sister colleges who had registered for the camp in order to learn Korean culture. This program was devised to support students and create an atmosphere of effective foundation building. The mentees will be paired with an expert who works in a relevant field to develop a mentoring relationship over a period of time.
