In the seminar, the instructor said professors must believe that their students can do it. Also, students must believe that they can do it. Then, professors help students identify their study habits. Four of Keimyung University’s enterprise organizations were selected for Creative Korea (CK project) by the Ministry of Education and National Research Foundation of Korea. Keimyung University now has seven enterprise organizations after the addition of the four new ones. KMU receives 15 billion won for this project until 2018. The CK project is the representative project for inducing radical reform in universities and showcasing the strong points of universities to remain competitive. On October 7, the Gukje Forum was held at Keimyung University’s Gukje Art Museum. The Gukje Forum was founded in honor of Jeong Jeum-sik, and named as such to commemorate his accomplishments and dedication to the College of Fine Art. The forum’s theme of creativity and innovation was chosen to celebrate the 100 anniversary of Gukje’s birth. Keimyung university students had an opportunity to engage in conversations and debates with international artists, designers, curators and art educators at the forum. From August 24 to 27, KMU textile design students participated in Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles. The topic of this textile fair was children experiencing new cultures and establishing identities during their journey to find paradise. Keimyung University Sports Industry Developers opened the Sports Industry Start-up Space on the 7th floor of the Daegu Trade Center to offer support to start-up companies. On July 11, Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center (Director, Kim Kwon-bae) received a plaque of appreciation from the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS). The center has participated in a medical volunteer activity, Healthy Angels with Love, with the National Health Insurance Service since 2013. This volunteer work aims to reduce a dead zone of the medical treatment for the underprivileged. From July 6 to 9, KMU students in the Glocal Trade Expert Incubating Program (GTEP) participated in the Shanghai International Sports Equipment Expo and the Beijing K-Style Fair 2016. Students prepared for these for a month, analyzing products and strategizing for marketing. They also gave a lot of help to several local companies like working as interns at the companies.
