On March 25, Dr. Lawrence Taylor from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, held a special lecture in Keimyung University. Dr. Taylor is Dean of International Programs and head of the Department of Anthropology in Maynooth. In the lecture, Dr. Taylor gave some advice about studying in Ireland and some information about Irish culture. He also outlined some of the anthropological research that he has conducted in Ireland and Mexico. Many Keimyung students and a good number of foreign professors attended the lecture.
On February 12, a conferment of degrees ceremony was held in Adams Chapel. About 3000 graduates, their families and congratulators packed the campus.In the first part of the ceremony, a total of 903 graduates (677 masters, 119 doctorates, and 107 non-degrees) received their degree and/or diploma.The second part of the ceremony was the conferment of honorary doctorates. Synn Il-hee, as the 9th president of Keimyung University, awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Political Science and an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration to Kim Moo-yun and Ham Jeong-woong respectively.
