Brief on KMU

Decision to freeze registration fee next year

As the economic slump is continuing, most of the metropolitan universities in Korea are determined to freeze their registration fee next year. Therefore, Keimyung University decided to freeze its registration fee on December 1, making it the first provincial university to do so.

President Synn Il-hi said, “Keimyung decided to freeze its registration fee because of the difficult economic situation Korea is facing. The freezing of the registration fee is to prevent a low student enrollment in the next semester due to the increased financial burden that students will suffer.”

This decision to freeze the registration fee will have an influence on other provincial universities and it will likely lead to more universities following Keimyung’s approach.
