Keimyung Hanhakchon (Hanhakchon) is a cultural space located on the Seongseo campus where visitors can experience traditional Korean culture firsthand. It is home to Joseon-era buildings such as hanoks and sarangchae, and offers a variety of experience programs such as a hanbok experience, tea ceremony, and traditional craft workshops. The Dongsan Library of Keimyung University held library training for international students. The beginner class was held on November 7th and the advanced class was held on November 12th in X-Space. The program, which was designed to support the academic activities of international students, was divided into two parts: the beginner class, which focused on how to use Korean learning materials; and the advanced class, which covered how to use domestic and international academic articles. sumin8101g@hanmail.net
On November 19th, the K-MOM Adaptation Program was hosted by the Student Counseling Center at Keimyung University. The K-MOM program, which aims to help international students adjust to school life, covered topics such as interpersonal relationships, career, and employment. On November 2nd and 3rd, the Hanmaeum Taekwondo Culture Festival was held at the Seongseo Campus Gymnasium to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Keimyung University. To celebrate the 125th anniversary of KMU, “World Food Day” was held on Wednesday, October 30th. This event provided a valuable opportunity for international students to introduce cuisine from their country, with a total of 17 countries participating and 17 food booths representing the various nations. KMU’s German cultural experience event received enthusiastic feedback from students. The event, held over five weeksstarting from October 16, involves students from various nationalities. In 2021, Professor Kwon Oh-kyun (Civil Engineering) donated 100 million KRW to establish the firstscholarship fund for the “Keimyung Plus” initiative. This program allows donors who contribute over 50 million KRW to have their donation matched by the university, creating a substantial scholarship fund. Since Professor Kwon’s donation, others have followed suit, leading the fund to exceed 5 billion KRW in total within just two years. In recognition of his contributions, Professor Kwon was recently inducted into the Keimyung Bridge Honors Club, and we had a meaningful conversation with him.

Seven books authored by Keimyung University professors have been selected as 2024 Excellent Academic Books by the National Academy of Sciences of Korea. The selected books include two in the humanities and also two in the social sciences, and three in the natural sciences.
