Opening the dictionary can often be seen as laborious trudge, a tedious necessary in times of doubt, but it doesn’t have to be like that. When we are opening the dictionary we are performing a similar role to that of Howard Carter as he opened the door to the sarcophagus of the great king Tutankhamen under the sands of the Egyptian desert. The dictionary, like the pharaoh’s tomb can serve as a time capsule; offering a glimpse into the past and informing us about society at a certain time. Keimyung University's Graduate School of Business had an opening ceremony on October 14 to commemorate the beginning of a two month education course for representatives from Kia Motors. Lectures in business operations, marketing, sales management, tax accounting, and general cultural studies are being given to thirty five representatives from dealerships in Kyeongsang Province including Daegu and Pusan.
Students from the Department of Textile Design have painted a 60 meter wide and 2.7 meter high wall around Banwoldang Subway Station under the guidance of prof. Lee Jae-beom. The students began painting in August and their goal is to improve our community's environment. The wall painting has urban bright rhythmical images of musical movements and dancers. The main colors are mint and white. Pink and dark purple are also used to create an afterimage visual impression when seen from passing cars. We have honorary scholarships that are awarded to students who donate their scholarship money to students with financial needs. Let’s meet the first and two honorary scholarship students, Kim Hye-jung and An Hyon-suk. Kim Hye-jung is a first grade student in the College of International Studies.
