The vice president of SC First Bank, David G. Thomas, gave a lecture on March 20 in Euiyang Hall. The lecture concerned the 5th Global International Internship Congress (GIIC). The GIIC is an internship fair which introduces and offers international internships. Vice President Thomas spoke about SC First Bank's management policy, business principles, and activities. He also gave useful information about international internships to students. The Silver Expedition to Mt. Everest in May celebrates the 30th anniversary of the first Korean expedition to reach the top of Mt. Everest. It consists of people who are in their sixties and seventies. Professor Kim Sang-hong, who was recently selected to join the expedition, said, "I didn't expect to be picked. I am the youngest one in the expedition, but I will do my best." On March 15, the Russian ambassador to Korea, Ambassador Gleb A. Ivashentsov, gave a special lecture in Haengso Museum. The lecture's subject was "Russia's Asian policy and relations between Korea and Russia." Ambassador Ivashentsov explained Russia's relations with Korea and the nuclear problem of North Korea, and he helped students understand the lecture through a question and answer session following the lecture. On March 20, the Spanish ambassador to Korea, Ambassador Delfin Colome, visited Keimyung University to sign an educational cooperation agreement between Keimyung University and major universities in Spain.
