Keimyung University’s Center for Automotive Tarps Technology was selected by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy to utilize research from the Ministry’s Regional Innovation Center (RIC) on September 27. Keimyung’s Center for Automotive Tarps Technology will receive from the government three hundred million won annually. Forty-one centers, including 14 Regional Research Centers (RRC) and 27 Technology Innovation Centers (TIC), applied for this and 17 centers were selected. Keimyung University is going to manage the Dalseo FTI Business Forum Project. Those involved with the project include Sungseo industrial district companies, schools, and research centers. The goal is to promote future industrial and economic development in Dalseo-gu. The honorary dean and the dean of Keimyung International College (KIC) were inaugurated in a ceremony held on October 11. KIC is a college that will offer full courses in English. Prof. Lee San-mun of Lincoln University was appointed honorary dean and prof. Willam A. Snow of Bangkok University was appointed dean. They start their official duties next March. Prof. Lee is contracted for five years and prof. Snow is contracted for two years. The Keimyung University Center for Traditional Microorganism Resources (TMR) was selected to analyse Korea's drinking water on September 14. It was selected as food sanitation inspection organization in 2002 and the stock farm products sanitation inspection organization in 2004. The research of prof. Park Jong-gu of Keimyung University's School of Medicine was selected amongst the top 50 research articles of 2006. His article was called “Massively Parallel Discovery of Gene Functions Using Large Circular (LC)-Antisense Bank.” Only teams from Keimyung University and Pohang University of Science and Technology were selected from Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-Do. This event was held on September 26, at 11am in the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation building in Daejeon. As of September 24, the bus routes changed for several buses. For the buses 101, 101-1, 400, 400-1, 410, 410-1, 414, 414-1, 521, 604, 623, 651, 653, 730, Chilgok 2, Dalseong 2, Donggu 1-1, Bukgu 2, Seongseo 3, and Palgong 1, there were some changes in their routes. For the bus Dalseong 3, it was abolished. Please be careful when you take these buses, and check the bus routes in advance.
