European Studies is going to hold a series of forum on European themes, beginning next Wednesday. The first topic is "Islam and Europe." This forum is going to be held in Smith Hall on September 27 at 5 pm. The opening lecturer is Prof. Andrew Brennan of European Studies.

A rumor that a suspicious man haunts our campus has been spreading recently. A flasher was recorded to have appeared in the fifth and the sixth exits of Keimyung University Subway Station and 6 sexual assaults were reported over 4 months in Shindang-dong. However, due to police patrols over that time, there haven't been any assaults reported in the studio-apartment complex around the campus. On September 7 in Leegok-dong, a sexual assault occurred and the offender was arrested. Accordingly, we need to improve the present condition of public security and crime prevention in and around Keimyung
About 30 Activity Clubs recruited new members under the sponsorship of the club union in front of the old Bauer Hall between September 4 and 8. It was for students who did not join any clubs in the frist semester. On September 5, a seminar entitled, "Tips to attend online virtual lectures effectively" was held in the multimedia room in the annex of Bauer Hall by the Center for Teaching & Learning. The Keimyung International College (KIC) will open in March 2007. The KIC will be the first college to offer a full course of English-only lectures in our region and the third such international college in Korea following Yonsei and Hannam Universities.
