The First Spanish Film Festival

The Department of Spanish & Latin American studies held the first Spanish film festival titled “In Search of Documentary Films,” supported by the Embassy of Spain in Korea. The festival continued for seven days from May 6 to 15, excluding the weekend, at 6 pm at the International Lounge in Bauer Hall.

The seven documentaries shown in this festival were not movies frequently released in Korea, and the movies usually portray Spanish society in the late 19th to the early 20th century. Topics include the Spanish Republic, the Spanish Civil War, and an anarchist who lived during the Spanish Civil War. The movies not only dealt with the problems of Spanish politics and society but also music and film. They were shown in Spanish but with English subtitles.
