State University of New York at Oswego

Hello, I’m a senior majoring in Psychology, and I’m cur rently spending my exchange student year at the State Univer sity of New York at Oswego, or SUNY Oswego, in New York. I’d like to share my experiences here and introduce you to the school and the surrounding area.

SUNY Oswego is a public university located in Oswego, New York, right on the shores of Lake Ontario. The campus offers stunning views of the lake, and the area around the lake is perfect for taking walks. The school is also close to the Canadian border, which makes hockey a particularly popular sport here. The natural scenery around the campus provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The classes here are very practical, with a strong emphasis on active student participation. Most courses prioritize partic ipation grades over attendance, so it’s common to see students freely exchanging opinions and asking questions during class. Student life at SUNY Oswego is quite relaxed and open. It’s normal to see students eating during class or casually dis cussing topics with the professor as if they were having a con versation. There are many events and activities on campus, and students actively engage in them, making for a vibrant col lege experience.

The dorms are similar to those in Korea, with both single and double rooms available. Each room comes with a private bathroom, making it a very comfortable living environment.

Oswego is a rural area, so there aren’t many special restau rants nearby, but I highly recommend the tacos and fajitas from the campus dining hall. Buffalo wings are also a popular choice among local students.

Being an exchange student here has given me the opportu nity to challenge myself and grow in a new environment. I’ve realized that living in the U.S. suits me well, and I now plan to pursue an internship here after graduation to gain more expe rience. I strongly encourage you to consider an exchange pro gram, as it’s a great way to experience new cultures and broaden your global perspective.

My time at SUNY Oswego has taught me a lot and has been instrumental in shaping my future career plans. I hope you also get the chance to gain meaningful experiences and create lasting memories here!
