    Currently, controversy about installation of nuclear power plants is being continued because some people agree with this, but some don’t.ProNuclear power is one of the major energy resources. In Korea, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power has 24 nuclear reactors and nuclear power accounts for 30% of total power generation and 91.7% of the electricity. Some people oppose the installation of nuclear power plants because of the risk of nuclear accidents, but nuclear power is a safe and efficient way to produce electricity.     Since November 2016, a catastrophic avian influenza (AI) has plagued South Korea. Due to the AI, many chickens had to be destroyed causing the price of chicken and eggs to soar.   • KMU Student Gave a Guard a Camp Bed

    It is currently a topic of interest in the Keimyung University online community that a student gave a security guard a camp bed.The student is a Keimyung Engineering College student, and he wrote that the guard slept on a small desk not a bed.After writing about this situation, a camp bed was delivered in front of the night-duty room within a few days.   • Free Semester System Event

    On December 22, a free semester system event was held by KMU. Its purpose was to advocate the free semester system and to improve public education across all schools.In this event, there were 20 experience booths which consisted of representative departments from each university. Through this experience, students considered their potentials and aptitude, and were able to have mentoring session and psychological tests.     It is an issue there are college students tried to improve relations between Korea and China about a ban Korean wave in China recently. Students are from Keimyung University and are attending a China Namgae University on an exchange scholarship. Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride.
