The Keimyung Cultureful Festival was held on October 1 and 2 by the 36th Whole Club Union. The 3 events called ‘the Truth, Justice and Love’ were opened in 3 different places, around The Bauer Hall and the Main Stadium, and in front of the Main Gate of KMU. Also, on the Red Block streets in front of the east gate, there were concerts. Many students enjoyed the festival by participating in the events and eating snacks from the food trucks and booths.

The 6th Hyundai Motor Group Drama & Music Festival for Universities, which is Korea’s largest scale fesitval, was held on September 2. 23,000 students and 75 teams from 65 universities participated in this festival. Urine Town’s musical which is a team from the Stage Play and Musical Department at Keimyung University won the grand prize for the best individual director prize, and the bronze trophy for group performance at this year’s University Musical Festival which was the biggest ever. On September 20, 2018 a University Recruit Tour was held at Keimyung University. This event was hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and conducted by Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Keimyung University. There was a total of 34 participants including Daegu Bank who set up booths to offer on-site job interviews and recruitment consulting. On September 14, the Border Research Center of Keimyung University and the Korea Political Science Association held an international academic conference at Keimyung University to analyze territorial issues and policies embraced by Korea, China, Russia, and Japan. On September 19, the Songguk-ri Cultural Assets Exhibition from the Bronze Age has opened. This exhibition will be on display until December 8, 2018 on the first floor of the Hengso Museum. The subtitle of this event is ‘Settled Agrarian Society and the Establishment of Ancestor Worship Culture’, so there are earthenware, stone blades and arrowheads used for farming and hunting in the Bronze Age in Korea. Photographer Changmo Park who actively performs as a member of the Society of Modern Photographic Images and works for the PR Team of Keimyung University held his third solo exhibition titled ‘Dalsung Park’ at Daegu Arts Power Plant in September. Through this exhibition, Park displayed 41 art pieces illustrating Dalsung Park across four areas: those who visited Dalsung Park in 2018, images of Dalsung Park in the old days, animal spaces, and historic Dalsung earthen ramparts. If you don’t like to study Korean history or you feel history is difficult, books written by historical figures might help you. Especially, literary books which are set in the history of the author’s country can help make you feel interested about its history. I will introduce one of the most important poets in all of Korean history, Yun Dong-ju, and his collection of poems. Yun Dong-ju is modern writer who lived in the Japanese Colonial Era and he was a writer and also an independence fighter and the Collection of Poems
