From August 9 to 28, the 2010 Summer Korean Language and Culture Training Camp was held in Keimyung University International Training Center. About sixty foreign students from Japan, France, and England participated in this camp to experience Korean culture.The camp had intensive courses to learn Korean language and culture. The 10th Miryang Summer Performing Arts Festival was held from July 22 to August 1. The closing ceremony had the performance The Empire of the Sun and the awards ceremonies for the young theater directors’ competition and the university students acting competition. On June 21, Professor Thomas Trotter, a world renowned organist, had a solo organ recital in Keimyung University. He played 14 pieces of music that many great composers like Bach, Schumann, and Alain composed, including 'Fantasia and Fuga' by Bach. The recital was held in Adams Chapel at 7:30 p.m. and was a free recital. Kemyung University installed a wonderful pipe organ which has 3770 pipes in 1999 and has invited many great organists giving opportunities for the public to listen to classical organ music for free every year.
