2010 Summer Korean Language and Culture Training Camp


From August 9 to 28, the 2010 Summer Korean Language and Culture Training Camp was held in Keimyung University International Training Center. About sixty foreign students from Japan, France, and England participated in this camp to experience Korean culture.

The camp had intensive courses to learn Korean language and culture. In the morning, students listened to Korean lectures, and in the afternoon, they experienced various Korean culture. They learned taekwondo, played yut, made pottery by hand, and made jegi and traditional crafts. Also, they cooked Korean traditional food like kimchi and visited Goryeong, Gyeongju, and Seoul to experience various traditional culture.

The fee for this camp was 1,500,000 won. Students paid fees and other charges at their own expense. Furthermore, a student participating in the camp said that lately students majoring in Korean increased by 80 students in Paris Diderot University. It means other countries’ people are getting more interested in Korean language and culture.
