From August 22nd to August 23rd, the CORE project group in KMU carried out the Humanities Integrated Enterprise Inquiry in Jeju. The group went to the head office of KAKAO, the NEXON Computer Museum, the Lee Jung Seop Art Museum and International Convention Center Jeju. Keimyung University held the Dongsan Forum to celebrate the 118th year of the foundation. It was held in Dong Cheon Hall on September 26th of this year. Keimyung University held a completion ceremony for a training program for Daegu-Gyeongbuk plant engineers on August 31st. The educational training was started at KMU by the government to develop its human resources as well as to forge mechanical and piping systems, chemical processes and for the engineering and construction industry to learn the executive abilities of the design process, skill, procurement, and construction. In Hengso Museum in KMU, the traveling exhibition of Chinese celadon and the Silk Road is opened from September 18th until November 18th. This exhibition is co-hosted with Gyeongsandbuk-do and Hanseong Baekje Museum. KMU announced that it was selected to join the Multicultural Society Implementation Agency, on August 25 and was awarded qualification to train multicultural society experts. A multicultural society expert is a professional worker who can teach courses for immigrants on adaptation and settlement into Korean society. The course includes an introduction to immigration policy, entry and residency of foreigners, process of rights and interests, and integration into society over a 15 hour course. Keimyung University's Dongsan Library held ‘Library Resource-sharing Mentoring’ program on from August 7. Library resource-sharing is for university students to volunteer for improving local libraries-specifically, school and small scale libraries. Since 2011, at the beginning of summer vacation, this library resource-sharing mentoring has been implemented seven times a year. The Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea (KPIPA) announced that they selected 320 scholarly books from across ten fields as ‘2017 scholarly books of Sejong’. KPIPA judged 4,013 scholarly books which were published from March last year to February this year. From these judged books, five scholarly books written by KMU professors were selected. The Keimyung University Taekwondo Performance Team won second place in the Senior Taekwondo Gymnastic Competition, at the 2017 Anyang World Taekwondo Hanmadang. This festival was held between July 29th and August 1st with 64 countries and 5732 athletes. The Taekwondo Gymnastic Competition was held on the 31st.The team which consisted of Gayeon Gang and 8 other members was considered as a rising star of this competition.
