On December 18, Lee Seung-sun, a professor from the Department of Composition in Keimyung University, won a prize for his composition at the 1st Korean Opera Award with his work, Asadal and Asanyo. The award was held by the Korea Opera Group and Kimchakyung Opera Group to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the starting of opera in Korea. His work, Asadal and Asanyo, was performed at the 2004 and 2007 Daegu International Opera Festival and the 2000 Gyeongju World Culture Expo.
