Letters from Readers

Advice for the Gazette

When I studied at Daemyeong Campus, I contacted the Gazette for the first time. I used to read the Gazette as I am always wondering what is happening on Seongseo Campus, and I got really excited about it. Since the Gazette became a magazine, I started to read it regularly.

As a reader of the Gazette, I think the Gazette is a very useful English newspaper because it has various information and many exciting corners. However, there are two things I want to advise to the Gazette. Every page of the Gazette has so many letters and it sometimes makes me lose my interest. I wish the Gazette could have more pictures, spaces, and pages.

In addition, movie review sections and some other sections are so exciting but I think the Gazette needs more sections about practical life and studying. Many students want to get a lot of information through study corners from the Gazette, which offers communication skills or English study.

I hope the Gazette can prosper even more, and I want to say I will always love the Gazette. I am a proud reader of the Gazette in Keimyung.

Go, Go Gazette!

Hello to all the readers of the Keimyung Gazette! I have read the Gazette! since I was a freshman. I have gotten a lot of information and opportunities to think about many issues which were discussed in the Gazette!.

I like all the sections in the Gazette, but my favorite one is the 'culture' section. Especially, I was impressed at the beginning part of the 'Let's go on a visit' article in the last issue about the Namyangju Studios, which described the way from Seoul Station to Namyangju Studios in detail. Whenever I fold the ‘culture’ section after reading it, I am so fascinated with all of the books, movies and travel destinations which were introduced that it makes me want to read the books, see the movie and also hit the road to the travel destination. The 'culture' section is like a fresh breeze to me.

However, I would also like to make a suggestion to the Gazette. One of the goals the Gazette pursues is to make students think about many issues. So, it is necessary to include students' own columns, or pros and cons articles which compare Keimyung students' different points of view. If you do this, we can hear various voices from more students and it would be helpful for them when they write English academically. Of course, I also would like to write an article if the opportunity is given to me.

Finally, I would like to show my appreciation to all the Gazette staff for letting me have this brilliant opportunity to contribute my opinion. I think the Gazette can continue to thrive more and more, and I am looking forward to seeing the Gazette’s future.
