On November 27, the final debate contest hosted by Keimyung University was held in Shattuck Hall. The final contestants had a heated discussion for 50 minutes.There were two different topics which were the abolition of the death penalty in the first round and semi-final and conscientious objection to military service in the quarterfinal and final. Keimyung University decided to make a donation for residents of Yeonpyeong Island. Keimyung University will donate 10 million won raised from Keimyng 1% Love Sharing through the Republic of Korea National Red Cross. Keimyung also plans to send volunteers composed of Keimyung staffs and students to Yeonpyeong Island to do restoration works and aid after getting permission from the authorities.Keimyung 1% Love Sharing is composed of 741 Keimyung staff and has operated since 2004. On November 25, the 8th Kemmy Awards was held in Bauer Hall multimedia room. The students, who are taking a Communication English class and were recommended by their professor, could participate in this competition.Communication English class professors judged the competition. On November 10, the “Allergy-free” team comprised of students from the Department of Food and Nutrition was awarded the grand prize in the field of new food development at the 2010 Seoul Food Safety Contest sponsored by the Seoul Food Safety Information (FSI). On November 16, the student arts troupe of China Shandong University, Wei Hai branch, visited Keimyung University and performed in the Bauer Hall multimedia room.The students troupe performed a quartet (horse racing), a solo (rattan), martial arts, a dance (Aagacci), among other things.
