The 8th Kemmy Awards


On November 25, the 8th Kemmy Awards was held in Bauer Hall multimedia room. The students, who are taking a Communication English class and were recommended by their professor, could participate in this competition.

Communication English class professors judged the competition. The judges where looking for creativity, good preparation, good delivery, and a clear structure.

Fourteen students participated. They chose a subject and gave a five minute presentation about it. The subjects chose topics such as the butterfly effect, airway obstruction, and differences between the sexes. Some students performed a dance, or even played musical instruments.

Lee Jung-min, who presented about ‘Hipsters’, received the grand prize (one million won). The second prize (750,000 won) went to Kwon Yae-rin. She presented about ‘Kayageum’ and played ‘Doraji taryeong’ with a kayageum during the presentation. Jin Ju-yeon, who was awarded the third prize (500,000 won), presented about ‘Kemmy’s Reflections’.
