On April 4, the 33rd "History Readings for College Students" seminar was held in Youngam Hall. This lecture was given by Professor Jung Chul-woong, a Chinese history scholar from Myongji University. His lecture concerned climate change throughout human history. He said the lecture's purpose was not to explain human history, but to consider natural history and draw an outline of climatic change. The 46th Art and Literature Forum, sponsored by the Department of Creative Writing, was held on March 28 in Youngam Hall. The forum, which consists of a lecture by a famous guest speaker, has been popular with Keimyung students. The forum is held three times a semester. The Silver Expedition to Mt. Everest in May celebrates the 30th anniversary of the first Korean expedition to reach the top of Mt. Everest. On March 15, the Russian ambassador to Korea, Ambassador Gleb A. Ivashentsov, gave a special lecture in Haengso Museum. The lecture's subject was "Russia's Asian policy and relations between Korea and Russia." Ambassador Ivashentsov explained Russia's relations with Korea and the nuclear problem of North Korea, and he helped students understand the lecture through a question and answer session following the lecture. Twenty-one students and graduates from Keimyung University passed the employment examination for teachers which was conducted between December 2006 and January 2007.
