In fact, I personally did not have a dream for college life. Because I came to college with the idea that I would just go to college. Still, if I want to do something in college before graduating from college, I want to try to have fun at the festival. I want to leave unforgettable memories in college festival, eat delicious snacks, listen to songs, talk with friends until the festival is over. However, it is too bad that we cannot enjoy the festival properly due to COVID-19, which started in 2019. I hope the day will come when COVID-19 will end and we can fully enjoy festivals and events. kmi
Cross-Cultural Awareness Program, often shortened into CCAP, is a program where a foreigner teams up with a Korean interpretation volunteer and delivers a class about their own culture to the Korean children in school. This time, we met Enora from France and listened to her CCAP experience. She went to a boys-only high school and taught a full-sized class about the French language, music, style, cities, government, society, the flag, food, and cultural misunderstandings. 1. Can you introduce yourself, please? - My name is Enora Elise Ménager. I come from France. I live in Lyon, the second most
I think what I expected was joining a lot of programs here. I saw, before coming here, that there are a lot of festivals in campus. It’s a big thing in Korea, like this year opening festivals, something like that. Because I don’t have that in my university. So, it was really nice to open the new semester like that. There were stands around the campus where you can get some snacks and stuff. It was very new to me. What I missed is a sort of get-together for the international students. One of my friends goes to a university in Berlin. He said that they have this get-together in the beginning of
When I entered International Business department of KAC, I was very surprised because I didn’t expect to meet people from so many countries. So the first thing I wanted to do was to hang out with friends especially Korean friends. I was able to make lots of new Korean friends and know more about Korean culture and foods which I love a lot. I also was able to help them with English since I used to teach English back in my country, Uzbekistan. After that, I was also interested in doing university volunteering programs so I joined Servus Lethan club and taught English to Korean kids which was ver
Probably, trying to communicate with other students because we have this language barrier. Either the students are very shy, or they don’t know English. And I don’t know Korean. It’s kind of hard when we try to talk because then it just feels like we go back and forth and back and forth. Typically, when I’m in class, my teachers my teachers can speak in Korean and in English. But when I’m paired up with students, some of the students can’t speak English, and I can’t speak in Korean. It’s like we are trying to pick words. I’m trying to build my vocabulary, and they try to build theirs. And it f
When I entered the university, all the classes were done through zoom class due to the Corona virus. So I had no chance to get to know my classmates. I thought it would be good to take online classes because I didnt have to go to the school but after few months of taking online classes, I really wanted to go to school. I believe for most of the freshmen, it would be their fantasy to go to school and hang out with friends, going to MT, field trips. And I also began to miss those things. Even though I entered university, I had no one to spend time with and travel with. So I was so excited to hea
The most embarrassing moment after entering university was not being able to find school buildings and classrooms. It was difficult for me to find the building because the buildings on campus exist under various names and the locations are separate. Even when I barely found the building, I didn't know the exact location of the classrooms in the building, and even if I checked the location of the classroom at the entrance, there were cases where other information existed. Because of this, there have been many times when I was almost late. Another time, I had to go to an technical building far a
1. Please introduce yourself. My name is Choi Hwa-yoon. I recently graduated from the Department of International Relations of Keimyung Adams College. Recently, I finished a 5-month internship in a Big Data team at Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, KOTRA. 2. The prime function of Tribig is the match Korean corporates with
