KMU’s Dongsan Library has been helping small libraries in substandard conditions for 5 years. Since 2011, Dong san Library has supported 45 libraries in Daegu and 47 libraries in Gyeong buk through various activities. The volunteer activities consist of reading education, data rearrangement, space organization, interior design and environmental improvement. These activities are greatly appreciated by the local community and library users. The Ministry of Employment and Labor and Keimyung University opened the University Center for Employment Creation to solve the youth employment problem in October. The Center is an employment support service in the Employment Support Center. This new project is being run in conjunction with and with funding from the local government. The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced that Keimyung University will run the University Center for Employment Creation with funding of 270 million won from October 2015 to February 2021. KMU has been selected as a University Contributing to High School Education Normalization for the second year in a row. KMU will receive 680 million won. The program assesses the effect of university admissions processes on high school education and selects universities that run appropriate admissions processes for the project. KMU will screen candidates in various ways such as focusing more on students’ school records, reducing the importance of Keimyung’s entrance examination, and increasing admissions for students from low-income households and rural areas to improve admissions processes.
