Chinese Culture Experience Program



A Chinese culture experience program was held at the 1st Student Union Building at 9 a.m. on October 8. This program was composed of a lecture on Chinese culture, tying a traditional knot, drawing Beijing opera masks, tai chi, and a traditional clothing experience and traditional performance.

Yoo Jung-won, a professor in the Department of Chinese Studies in KMU, gave a lecture about China. The population of China is composed of Han and 55 other minority ethnic groups. The portion of minority groups is about 8 percent. They mostly live in border areas. There are 5 autonomous regions in these areas. China has many natural resources, but they are insufficient for the country. Therefore, China has invested a lot of money in Africa. This is resource diplomacy by China. The economy of China is the second biggest in the world. According to the IMF, the GDP of China was about 10 trillion dollars in 2010.

The lecture on Chinese culture was helpful to Korean and foreign students.
