    King Sejong is widely known as a monarch representing the Joseon Dynasty, fostering scholarship and the arts, and showing deep love for his people. He left remarkable achievements across various fields, including science, technology, arts, culture, and national defense.   • Sangsang Colorful, Global Festival was held in KMU

    On September 27th, the Sangsang Color Festival was held at the small field on Seongseo Campus. The festival featured food and activity boothsrun by internationalstudents, as well as a color zone where participants enjoyed music and threw color powder.   • Extracurricular Week Event Dis played Best Practices and Exhibits

    On October 7-8th, the Extracurricular Week event was held near The New Bauer Hall at Keimyung University. It included a Student Best Practices Presentation which is an exhibition of over 100 outstanding extracurricular works, and departmental promotion booths. Lee Young-ho, Director of the Office of EducationalInnovation, expressed a commitment to enhancing extracurricular education for a student-centered environment.sumin8101g@hanmail.net

  • World Food Day to Celebrate KMU’s 125th Anniversary

    To celebrate the 125th anniversary of KMU, “World Food Day” was held on Wednesday, October 30th. This event provided a valuable opportunity for international students to introduce cuisine from their country, with a total of 17 countries participating and 17 food booths representing the various nations.   • Hangeulnal Competitions held to promote Hangeu

    KeimyungUniversitycelebratedthe578thHangeulDaybyhostingvarious programsfor internationalstudentsto promote the value of Hangeul. Theprogramsincludedactivitiessuchas aHangeulnamedecorationcontest andaKoreanlanguagequiz competition.Theuniversityhasheldthis event annually since 2008 to raise awareness of the excellence of Hangeul and help international students become more familiar with it.   • German Cultural Experience Event was held in the International Lounge

    KMU’s German cultural experience event received enthusiastic feedback from students. The event, held over five weeksstarting from October 16, involves students from various nationalities. Middle and high schoolstudents from Dalseo District also visited, offering them an excellent opportunity to learn about a different culture. The program was divided into three stations. The first station was a quiz about Germany, where students who answered correctly were rewarded with small plush toys. The second station featured a balance game called "Eierlaufen" (egg running).   • Students Shouldn’t Have to Worry About Tuition

    In 2021, Professor Kwon Oh-kyun (Civil Engineering) donated 100 million KRW to establish the firstscholarship fund for the “Keimyung Plus” initiative. This program allows donors who contribute over 50 million KRW to have their donation matched by the university, creating a substantial scholarship fund. Since Professor Kwon’s donation, others have followed suit, leading the fund to exceed 5 billion KRW in total within just two years. In recognition of his contributions, Professor Kwon was recently inducted into the Keimyung Bridge Honors Club, and we had a meaningful conversation with him.

    Samhan C1 is a local company specializing in the production ofred clay bricks,which have been used in the red pathways and buildings of our school and Dongsan Hospital. Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. Under the theme, “Arc,” symbolizing growth and vision, the Fashion Show showcased 94 outfits created by Keimyung University’s Fashion Design

French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride. The event provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to immerse themselves in Korea’s cultural and rural heritage while enjoying memorable outdoor activities.
