2007 Summer Overseas Volunteer Corps



From April 19 to 23, many students applied for the 2007 Summer Overseas Volunteer Corps. The overseas volunteer program is very popular with students, so many students want to join this program. In this Summer Overseas Volunteer Corps, about 360 students applied, but only 90 students could participate in this program. Mongolia’s competition rate was in the ratio of 8 to1, and China was in the ratio of 4 to 1 and 3.5 to 1.

This program was divided into the Mongolia team and two China teams. Each team consisted of 30 students. They stayed 12 nights in those places. The first overseas volunteer activity was performed in Mongolia. They helped a kindergarten near Ulaanbaatar from June 28 to July 10. The second and third overseas volunteers helped in China. They volunteered in schools in Julin from July 12 to 24 and July 16 to 28. They made a “Keimyung Playground” for children and an outdoor studying space by setting up desks and chairs, and they painted a wall to decorate the classroom. In addition, they showed taekwondo, balloon art, face painting, and sign language.

Helping other people is hard and difficult work. However, through this program, students could get a special experience, and they thought that helping other people is very valuable work. Therefore, attending an overseas volunteer program is good for you. You can to get a new experience and pleasure by helping other people.
