For me it was a surprise that the university publishes a newspaper in English. When I first glanced at the newspaper, I found it interesting. Kim Kyung-rim, who is a mature student, graduated first on the list among forty thousand graduate students. From 2006, she studied here and only three years later she graduated from Keimyung University.Among her three years here, she was never absent and never late for class. Her passion for studying resulted in her achieving a 4.5 average from all of her grades, and she graduated early with honor. For the first time, a private organization of Korea, Keimyung University, via its 'Keimyung 1% sharing love' project, donated money to Africa, parts of which are suffering from hunger and disease. From last August, after an outbreak of cholera, more then 35,000 people have been infect, and 1,700 people died in Zimbabwe due to the disease. A participant of the 'Keimyung 1% sharing love' project said, "Zimbabwe is suffering a lot of pain because of the lack of medical appliances and medicines. On December 10, ‘Warm Wintering’, a sharing love charity bazaar for foreign students, was held in the International Education Center lobby. The bazaar was held by the labor union of the personnel of Keimyung university.From December 13-15, about 1,000 goods, including winter coats and gloves, were collected from people and then went on sale to foreign students. Proceeds from the bazaar will be used for scholarships, while the rest of the goods will be offered to foreign students for free after the bazaar is over. On July 16, volunteers from the Keimyung University Maintenance Team donated eight million won, which they collected by selling waste paper and empty cans, to the university.
