On March 23 to 25, a freshman welcoming festival and the opening ceremony of the General Student Council were held in Seongseo and Daemyung campuses.There was a club performance, a Pizza Hut tasting event, a no-smoking campaign and the first regular general meeting on the first day. On March 5, the ‘Nightingale Pledge ceremony’ was taken by new nurses vowing to do their best in their career in nursing. It was held in the College of Nursing auditorium on Seongseo campus.110 junior students from the College of Nursing, who have taken their first step to becoming nurses, made the vows with candlelight to follow the nurse’s spirit in the form of respect for life and love for humanity. Keimyung University and Kyungpook National University have been awarded colleges of pharmacy. Both universities were assigned twenty five personnel. According to MEST (Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology), the personnel will increase to least thirty in 2012. President Synn said, “I am sorry to be assigned few personnel but glad to attract a college of pharmacy that Keimyung has hoped for.”The construction of the College of Pharmacy is expected to start in April this year. On March 2, the International Students' Orientation was held in Room 402 in the Center for International Education building at 9:30 a.m.During the orientation, Dr. Park Sang-hyuk, Director of International Affairs, greeted the international students. All staff members of the International Affairs Office and buddies (Buddy Program) made an introduction to the international students through a video presentation by Korea and Keimyung University.
