Keimyung University and Kyungpook National University have been awarded colleges of pharmacy. Both universities were assigned twenty five personnel. According to MEST (Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology), the personnel will increase to least thirty in 2012. President Synn said, “I am sorry to be assigned few personnel but glad to attract a college of pharmacy that Keimyung has hoped for.”
The construction of the College of Pharmacy is expected to start in April this year. The area of the building will be 11,876㎡, and it will form a triangle with the School of Medicine and the College of Natural Sciences.
Keimyung is in contact with eminent colleges of pharmacy in Germany and America to ensure an outstanding faculty. A collaborative research team with the University of Texas, Austin, which is known for new drug production, has been organized to develop a new drug. Keimyung is expected to take the lead in developing the new drug.
