  • New Government Policy for University Education System

    In order to prepare for the fourth industrial revolution, the Ministry of Education announced that Korea should cultivate talented people by changing the university education system. The Ministry of Education wants universities to be ready to adapt and flourish in this new era. They announced 15 plans including a flexible semester system, intensive courses, interdisciplinary education, and online courses.   • College of Pharmacy Graduates Passes National Pharmacist Test

    On February 14, Keimyung University announced that the of College of Pharmacy graduates passed the 68th National Pharmacist Test this year. This the third year in a row that all of the recently graduated students passed this test.Since the College of Pharmacy opened in 2011, all of its graduates have passed the national test. There were 27 in 2015 (the first graduating class), 37 in 2016, and 34 this year which is a 100% success rate.   • Overseas Volunteer Activities

    Keimyung University held overseas volunteer activities during the winter vacation. The volunteer activities included, remodeling a school, making a new playground for local children, and encouraging an active atmosphere.Keimyung University hosted the opening ceremony of the overseas volunteer group in December 22 last year and sent 140 members to four countries: Nepal, Myanmar, Philippines, and Cambodia. They divided the volunteer into four teams of 35 students. Each team was responsible for remodeling work, education work, cultural performance and donation work etc, in each of the four countr

  • KMU Signed MOU with KECO

    On Dec. 27, 2016, Keimyung University and the Korea Environment Corporation (KECO) signed an agreement to training environmental specialists at the Sungseo campus main building. Participating in the ceremony were, Shin Jin-gi, the administration vice president, and Lim Byeong-mu, KECO Daegu-Kyongbuk local center director, as well as 10 other officials.Both institutes agreed to support education for training local talent, exchange knowledge, technologies, and professionals.   • US Ambassador Mark Lippert Visits KMU

    On Jan. 10, U.S. Ambassador Mark Lippert visited Keimyung University’s Taekwondo Center. Ambassador Lippert has a huge interest in Taekwondo, so he visited KMU Taekwondo Center and watched a taekwondo performance. KMU’s Taekwondo Performance Team has won many awards for taekwondo techniques and gymnasticsAmbassador Lippert said, “Every country has their own distinct martial art. Korea’s taekwondo is attractive enough to be an Olympic event. Rather than focusing on attacking, developing spirit and skills to defend oneself are the attractive element of Taekwondo.”

  • Trump's Immigration Order

    On January 27, U.S. President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order limiting immigration. The executive order says that citizens from seven Islamic countries (Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Libya) are temporarily banned from receiving a visa or entering the U.S. Also, the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program has been suspended for 120 days. Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. Under the theme, “Arc,” symbolizing growth and vision, the Fashion Show showcased 94 outfits created by Keimyung University’s Fashion Design

French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride.
