On March 20 to 24, Keimyung University’s Student Council and the College of Physical Education held a campaign for fire fighter Choi Gil-su at Bauer Hall and the Dongsan Library. He graduated from Keimyung in 2005, and became a fire fighter in January 2017. After he saved two kids and their parents from a fire, he had to jump from the 3rd floor to escape. Unfortunately, he broke his spine in the fall. In honor of his sacrifice, students decided to raise money to help pay for his treatment. At the 2017 Daegu International Textile Fair, which was held from March 8-10, KMU students from the Fashion Marketing Department attracted a lot of attention. They participated in the fair as Da-Mi Lab (Daegu-Milano Laboratory), which was a joint Daegu-Milan booth. The students were responsible for installing and planning the booth, talking about products, directing products’ design, and exhibiting them. At the fair, they exhibited five bags that were designed by fashion marketing students for their graduation exhibition last year and made by artisans of a company called Gli Artegianim Ilano.
Synn Il-hi, KMU president, visited Poland and Hungary from February 19 to 26 to develop relationships with two European universities. He first visited Jakiellonian University to finalize an exchange agreement about exchange scholarships, student exchange programs and exchanges of professors and staff. Also, President Synn visited Liszt Conservatoire in Budapest, Hungary. He discussed an activation plan for the Kodaly program and a joint degree in conservatoire. President Synn said, “I am very glad about the scholarship exchange agreement with prestigious universities in Europe.”
On March of 2017, the Keimyung University College of ARTech, Department of Video and Animation student art work began to be displayed on the Kim Gwang-seok Road’s Webtoon Corner.
