Our school's Korean Thanksgiving vacation will last 9 days. KMU assigned October 2nd and 4th as private study days. So from September 30, 9 day vacation will begin.Buses to students’ hometowns will run on October 4, from 2 p.m. Places on buses need to be reserved in advance. The KMBS Broadcasting Festival will be screened on cable TV from September 27. Several programs produced by KMBS will be televised on SDTV, The Green Cable Television Station, and Qrix. On SDTV, KMBS programs are going to be televised every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 4AM, 10AM, and 2PM during the rest of this semester. The Green Cable Television Station and Qrix are arranging their schedules to televise KMBS programs in October. A festival for Korean Thanksgiving Day (Chuseok) will be held at Hanhak-chon. It will help you understand the Korean holiday culture. Time: September 30 from 2pm to 5pm.Place: Hanhak-chon (Keimyung Culture Village)Events: Learn about Chuseok. Experience traditional foods, games, crafts, and a folk music performance. A seminar called "How to get a GPA above 4.2" was held for 100 minutes by the Center for Teaching & Learning on September 19. Six students were invited to share their own ways to get good grades with the audience. Yoon Mi-ran, a senior from the Department of Korean Language & Literature, said that if you have time to make daily plans in the morning, you can put out the maximum efficiency in doing what you plan to do. The Myungyo Dormitory Open House Festival began on September 20 and lasted 3 days. The many events included a wheelchair race, a concert, a soccer game, and a fireworks display. Also, a charity flea market that sold things donated by dormitory students was held and the collected money will be donated to the Sungseo Welfare Center. Daegu Athletics Meeting 2006 will be held at the World-cup Stadium. By hosting the event Daegu intends to boost city image, a city of athletics and raise an people's interests on the athletics so that it could help to host 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu. Daegu showed its intention to make a bid for the 2011 event with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) on Jan. 26, 2004.
